About this test

Practice for the CDL hazardous materials (hazmat) endorsement knowledge test with original questions written from the hazardous materials section of the Texas Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers Handbook (DL-7C, revised March 2026), which follows the national AAMVA model CDL manual used by most states. Every correct answer is backed by a passage of the handbook and checked by two independent verifiers.

  • Study: every question with a short explanation.
  • Topic drills: purpose of the rules and who does what, shipping papers, labels and placards, loading and unloading, bulk packaging, driving, parking and emergencies.
  • Mock test: not offered, because the handbook states the 80% pass mark but not the number of questions.

The questions are written in our own words in English and Spanish; this is not any state's question bank. Table lookups (such as the hazardous materials table and segregation chart) are not included. The federal security threat assessment for the endorsement is separate.
