Copyright Policy and DMCA Notices
Last updated: October 26, 2026
1. Who owns what
Creators keep the rights to the material they upload and to the capsules they build from it. By uploading material, a creator confirms that they own it or have permission to use it, and that they are using it for their own study, their own audience or people they choose to share it with. Capxule hosts capsules; it does not claim ownership of their content.
2. Material you may upload
Upload only what you have the right to use: your own notes, recordings, documents and writing, material released under a licence that allows it, public-domain and government works, or material you have permission to use. Do not upload copyrighted books, courses, broadcasts or transcripts you do not have rights to. Capsules are private until their creator publishes them.
3. Reporting an infringement (DMCA notice)
If you believe content on Capxule infringes your copyright, send a notice that includes: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; identification of the material you want removed and where it is on Capxule (the link); your contact details (name, address, email); a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner. Send it to dmca@capxule.com or to our designated agent: Copyright Agent, Capxule (the postal address is published here as soon as the registration with the U.S. Copyright Office is complete).
4. What happens next
We acknowledge every complete notice, disable access to the material promptly (our target is within 24 hours), notify the creator who uploaded it, and record the notice. Incomplete notices are answered with what is missing.
5. Counter-notice
A creator whose material was disabled may send a counter-notice with: their signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that they believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; their name, address and phone number; and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for their address (or any judicial district where Capxule may be found, if outside the United States). Unless the complainant files a court action, the material is restored within 10 to 14 business days of a valid counter-notice.
6. Repeat infringers
An account that receives three valid notices within twelve months is closed. We may also close accounts sooner for clear or deliberate infringement.
7. Notices under the EU Digital Services Act
Residents of the European Union may use the same address to report content they consider illegal. Include the link, why you consider the content illegal, your name and email, and a statement that your report is accurate and complete. We handle these reports in the same way and within the same times.
