CapxuleGo Browser Extension Privacy Policy

This policy covers the CapxuleGo browser extension specifically. It supplements the general Capxule Privacy Policy, which governs your Capxule account and capsule data. "Capsules" are your saved packages of context that CapxuleGo lets you use while you browse.

1. What the extension stores on your device

After you connect your Capxule account, the extension stores — in your browser's local extension storage, on your device only — an authentication token, your basic profile (name, email, avatar), the capsule you last opened, your recent copied reply, and your settings (for example whether the on-page writer and the page companion are turned on). Your recent conversation with a capsule is kept in session storage and cleared when the browser closes. Signing out removes the stored token and profile.

2. What the extension sends, and when

The extension communicates only with Capxule (app.capxulehub.com). It never sends your data to unrelated third parties. It sends data to Capxule in these situations:

• Chatting with a capsule:the messages you type, and — only when you choose "Include page selection" — the text you selected on the current page. Conversations are stored with your Capxule account, exactly like conversations on the website.
• Writing on a page(the ";;" shortcut, the "Capxule" prompt, or the right-click / keyboard writer): the instruction you type and the site's hostname, so your capsule can generate the text to insert.
• Page companion (suggestions): when it is turned on, CapxuleGo periodically reads a short, distilled summary of the page you are actively viewing (its title and an excerpt of the main text — not the full page, not your keystrokes) and sends it to Capxule so it can suggest capsules that may help with what you are doing. See sections 3 and 4 for what it does not read and how to turn it off.
• Documents (Google Docs & Microsoft Word):when you use the document companion, the text of the document you are working in is read and used to draft, review, or comment. For Google Docs this happens through Google's API using the per-document access you grant; for Word the extension's add-in reads and writes the open document and sends its text to Capxule for the writing/review step.

Content you send is processed by Capxule and its AI service providers (for example OpenAI) to generate your answers and suggestions, and is retained with your Capxule account like your other Capxule activity. It is never used for advertising and never sold.

3. Pages the companion never reads

To protect sensitive activity, the page companion automatically skips: banking, payment, and financial sites; health and medical sites; any sign-in, checkout, or account-security page, and any page showing a password field; Capxule's own sites; and document editors (Google Docs and Word, which have their own separate companion). It also only reads pages on sites where you have granted page access (see section 4).

4. Page access & your controls

Reading page text requires Chrome page-access permission, which the extension requests from you the first time you use an on-page feature and which you can decline; declining keeps chat working and simply disables the on-page writer and suggestions. Click-based actions (attaching your selection, inserting a reply) additionally use Chrome's activeTab permission, granting one-time access to the current tab after your explicit click.

The page companion is off by default; it reads pages only after you turn it on yourself, from the status bar in the CapxuleGo side panel ("Always-on companion"), and you can turn it off again at any time. When it is off, no page reading for suggestions occurs. You can also remove page access entirely from Chrome's extension settings, and signing out clears your stored token and profile.

5. Permissions explained

• identity — runs the secure sign-in window.
• storage — keeps you signed in and remembers your settings, on your device.
• sidePanel — shows the CapxuleGo side panel.
• activeTab & scripting — read your selection, insert replies, and read the current page for suggestions — on the sites you have allowed.
• contextMenus — the "Write with CapxuleGo" right-click menu on text fields.
• clipboardRead / clipboardWrite — copy a reply, and paste it in as a fallback when direct insertion isn't possible.
• notifications — let you know when a document you can work in is open, or when the companion has a suggestion.
• alarms — schedules the periodic (every few minutes) page-companion check.
• Host access to app.capxulehub.com — talk to your Capxule account's API.
• Host access to docs.google.com — detect when a Google Doc is open to offer the document companion.
• Optional access to other sites (requested on use) — read page text for the on-page writer and the companion; you can decline or revoke it.

All of the extension's code ships inside the extension; it does not download or run code from remote servers.

6. Data sales, sharing, and analytics

The extension contains no ads, no third-party analytics, and no trackers. We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties for unrelated purposes, we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to helping you use your capsules, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending. Data is shared only with the service providers that operate Capsule and its AI features on our behalf.
