Are call signs and station identification on the ham radio Technician exam?
It can be.
The 2026-2030 Technician Class FCC Element 2 Question Pool (in use July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2030) has no group set aside for call signs and station identification. The 15 questions on the topic sit in groups T1A, T1C, T1D, T1F and T2A, which also cover other subjects. Each exam takes one question from each of the pool's groups, so an exam has between 0 and 5 questions on the topic, depending on which question each group supplies, out of 35 (26 correct to pass).

What you need to know
Your call sign is the identifier the FCC assigns with your license. You must transmit it at least every 10 minutes during a contact and at the end of it, even when you are also using a tactical call such as a net or event name. On phone (voice) the identification must be in English, and it may be sent by voice or in Morse code (CW). The phonetic alphabet is encouraged but not required.
The pool also covers how call signs are issued and used: new licensees receive their license and call sign by email from the FCC, a Group D call sign such as KF1XXX is a valid format for a Technician, and any licensed amateur may request a vanity call sign. On the air, the usual way to answer a station calling CQ is to say its call sign followed by yours.
